Landis, Combs, Plummer, Wineberg take home shields at Spatola Classic; Prodigy has 12 placers3/30/2024 The Spatola Classic is known for its custom made shields given to the champions. Every wrestler wants to walk out with one of these by the end of the tournament. Its a great tournament with good competition.
Four Team Prodigy WC members walked out with a shield this year and Team Prodigy WC had 12 placers. Champions and Receivers of the Shield were Rush Landis (8u, Springboro), Seth Combs (10u, Kettering), Garrett Plummer (10u, Springboro), and Elijah Wineberg (12u, Miamisburg). 8 More Team Prodigy WC members placed including Kelton Smith (8u, Kettering) 3rd, Roman Lowe (8u, Springboro) 2nd, Mason Wireman (10u, Kettering) 4th, Adler Olberding (10u, Little Miami) 2nd, Kolton Ross (12u, Mason) 2nd, Davide Keirne (12u, Carroll) 3rd, Kamden Hunter (10u, Middletown), and Oscar Horning (12u, Monroe). Garrett Plummer, after winning 10u, also wrestled up at 12u and took 4th! Please keep Kamden Hunter in your prayers today. Kamden suffered a severe injury during his finals match and we wish him a quick recovery. Congrats to all of the wrestlers who wrestled today. Prodigy Wrestling Academy wrestlers did an unbelievable job of of competing this weekend at the OHWAY State tournament. This weekend was the OHWAY Novice State, Junior High State, and High School State. Prodigy Wrestlers walked away with some well deserved hardware!

There has been so much progress with the Team Prodigy WC this season (the first season) and we cannot wait to see what our upcoming seasons bring!
Sofia Canan leads the way by earning another STATE CHAMPIONSHIP this weekend in the Girls D1 61 lbs. division. Sofia follows up her OHWAY State Championship from last weekend! Prodigy Ended with 10 Total Placers and took 8th overall in the team title race. Sophia Canan (10u, 65, Arcanum) became a STATE CHAMPION this weekend at the OHWAY Girls State. Sophia won 3 hard fought matches on the way to the title 6-2, pin, and 3-0. Great job, Sophia. The dynamic Duo, sisters from Bellbrook, Paisley and Preston Adams, also made some noise in Marion, OH. Paisley Adams (8u, Hwt, Bellbrook) earned her EAGLE with a State Champion Performance. Presley Adams (10u, Hwt., Bellbrook) took home a 4th place finish. Reagan Hudson (JH, 100, Monroe) earned runner-up honors at OHWAY Girls state with a 9-1 major and pin, before falling in the finals. Helena Rajala (10u, 80, Beavercreek) placed 5th at the state tournament with a 3-2 record. Congrats, ladies, on all of your hard work! We are all proud of you! Kolby Williams (D3, 71, Monroe), Rush Landis (D2, 65, Springboro), and Reagan Hudson (Monroe) were finalists at the OHWAY Grade school and Girls State Tournament for 2024. They wrestled through tough brackets to make it to the finals and gave it their all. Congrats on a great tournament!
Prodigy Placed 20 wrestlers in the OHWAY State Tournament. Coaches are extremely proud of every wrestler's toughness, sportsmanship, and team support throughout the weekend. Parents and coaches are extremely proud of all you have accomplished. We are also proud of all of our wrestlers who toed the line this weekend and may not have gotten the results they wanted. Unless someone has wrestled, no one really knows the courage it takes to put it all on the line every time one steps on the mat. Be proud of what you put into this sport! Link to Prodigy Wall of Fame Easton Ballinger ends his 7th grade season as a OAC Junior High State Finalist. His loss in the finals was his only loss of this season, going undefeated for Edgewood Junior High and winning the OAC District Title at Butler. Congrats, Easton, on a well deserved State Runner-Up finish for 2024. Easton Lead 5 other wrestlers that placed in the OAC Junior High and Freshmen State Tournaments. Graham Moyer (Northmont) placed 5th and Carson Lipps placed 8th in the Junior High Division. Brady Dillon (Lakota East) placed 4th, Nick Vivian (LaSalle) placed 5th and Ryan Daniels (Lakota East) placed 6th in the OAC Freshmen Division. We would also like to recognize and congratulate former Prodigy Wrestlers and wrestlers who used Prodigy as a Resource to reach their goals, RJ Morgan (Miamisburg/Alter) 3rd, Kason Dill (Centerville/Alter) 6th, Greyson Boner (Talawanda) 2nd, and Declan Hutt (LaSalle) 1st, Giorgi Kvashilava (Centerville) 6th, Ryder Savage (Centerville) 5th, Kaylee Vera (3rd) on their continued success! Prodigy dominated the competition at OHWAY Southwest Regional at Wilmington HS on Sunday, 3/3/24. Prodigy walked away with 7 Regional Champions, 4 runner-ups, 28 total placers. Great Job to all of our wrestlers!
It is so cool how many different schools and clubs are represented in this list. Prodigy was always meant to be a place to improve and to go back to your home school to dominate in high school! Foucht, Smith, and Ballinger OAC JH District Champs; 3 more punch their ticket to OAC State!3/3/2024 Blake Foucht (74 lbs.), Layne Smith (78 lbs.), and Easton Ballinger (102 lbs.) all won the Butler OAC Junior High District on Sunday to become District Champions! All three have earned the right to compete at OAC Junior High State. Elijah Wineberg (2nd, 84 lbs.), Blaine Napier (6th, 90 lbs.), and Nathan Metcalf (4th, 126 lbs.) also became OAC Junior High State Qualifiers by placing in the top 6!
