Prodigy entered 31 wrestlers into the Lakota West OAC District this weekend and walked away with 17 state qualifiers. Prodigy also 4 state alternates and 24 overall district placers in the top 6. The wrestlers brought the heat and fought the whole day. I don't know if I have ever seen a group fight like they did today! Tytus Frahm (D2, 65, Springboro) and David Arens (D3, 65, Monroe) were both district champs! Prodigy also adds six District Runners-up with Seth Combs (D3, 60, Kettering), Roman Lowe (D3, 68, Springboro), Mason King (D4, 85, Edgewood), Houston Adams (D4, 95, Valley View), Case Johnston (D4, 100, Mason), and Vince Black (D4, 120, Beavercreek). A Full List of State Qualifiers are below: We are also proud of our wrestlers just missed the state tournament this time. Our 5th and 6th placers wrestled very well throughout the day.
Malachi Hundley and Liam Haines both took 5th at one of the toughest Junior High Tournaments in the state this weekend, the Heart of Ohio in Mechanicsburg. The Heart of Ohio allows club teams to enter in order to make the tournament as tough as it can be.
Malachi Hundley (104 lbs., Tipp City) wrestled great, going 3-2, and taking 5th place in a stacked weight class. Liam Haines (172 lbs., Middletown) wrestled an almost identical path, going 3-2, and taking 5th. This tournament is no joke! Placing against some of the top club wrestlers in the state is a great accomplishment and we are proud of each of you! Elijah Wineberg (86 lbs., Miamisburg) and wrestling for the Miamisburg Junior High Team, placed 2nd, going 3-1 on the day. Great job, Elijah! Prodigy Junior High Club Team took on what quite possibly could be the toughest Junior High tournament in Ohio other than the OAC Junior High State. Putting themselves up against the best, the team battled hard giving a good showing.
Malachi Hundley walked away with 4th place. Malachi and the other Prodigy wrestlers wrestled many state champions, placers and qualifiers during the tournament. Great job, wrestlers and keep working to get to the NEXT LEVEL! The Prodigy Grade School Dual Team wrestled at the Future Falcons Dual Tournament at St. Paris Graham on Sunday, 1/12/25. The team competed against some of the top club teams in the state. It is very satisfying when we can field almost a complete team with just Prodigy wrestlers and only have to bring in a few wrestlers to help fill weights. Our goal is always to give wrestlers opportunities and experience, win or lose, to help them become better wrestlers. Prodigy were able to pull out wins against Ohio Gold, Elder, and Tipp City. Their losses came against Graham and Empyre. Congratulations to all of the wrestlers competing for Team Prodigy! RESULTSPool D - ProdigyGuaranteed 3rd place
