Prodigy wrestlers Give it their all at d1-d4 OAC STate; Bowman, Manley State Champs; Team 7th overall
The OAC State Weekend ended with triumph and heartbreak as it does every year. Yet, Prodigy wrestlers all performed and acted as champions throughout the entire weekend. Win or lose, they portrayed themselves as good sportsmen and great people!
Team Prodigy was led by OAC State Champions Vince Bowman (D1, 50 lbs.) and Jett Manley (D3, 160 lbs.). Vince completed his journey by pinning or tech-falling every opponent. Jett came through with a big time victory with a pin over a wrestler he has not been able to beat over the past two years. What a great accomplishment by these two young men.
Many other Prodigy wrestlers found their way onto the podium this weekend. River Chamberlain (3rd), Kaiden Stacy (4th), Aidan Newdigate (4th), Elijah Wineberg (7th), and Kason Dill (7th). These wrestlers gave their all and had great weekends to become 2021 State Placers!
Prodigy had many wrestlers who qualified for the state tournament this year and we want to congratulate them on their weekends and hard fought matches. We saw a lot of heart, dedication, persistence, and maturity from all of our wrestlers competing. That is important to our program.
We want to give a shout out to a few wrestlers who have used Prodigy as a resource to supplement their training that compete for other clubs in Ohio. Chase Randolph from Beavercreek won his 2nd OAC State Championship in a REALLY EXCITING finals match. Jack Bratton from Springboro placed 4th and Zach Ryan of Mason placed 8th to finish up their season. Congrats to you all for your hard work and great finishes!
Team Prodigy took 7th place out of 201 teams at the 2021 OAC State Championships. This was a team effort that every member of the team contributed to throughout the tournament. Congrats to all and time to work for next season!
